Industry specialists from across the mining and industrial sectors of the economy will deliver a programme of highly informative free-to-attend seminars at Electra Mining Africa, taking place at the Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg from 2-6 September. This year’s Electra Mining Africa Innovation & New Products Awards’ overall winner is ABC Ventilation Systems (ABC). The new product hardline that won them top honours, as well as the Local Manufacturing: Innovation New Product (Mining category), is a Modified HDPE Polymer material converted into ducting for ventilation underground. The hardline product overcomes safety and logistical as well as installation issues associated with traditional steel ducting. “The inside of the product hardline is smooth and offers a low friction factor compared to other ducting and is also fire retardant and has a low toxicity index rating,” says Terry Pearce, MD ABC Ventilation Systems. “In addition, it is easy to move logistically, and the product can be recycled when the mine is finished with it,” he adds. Over 30,000 visitors at this year’s Electra Mining Africa
Over 30,000 visitors at this year’s Electra Mining Africa Celebrating 50 years this year, Electra Mining Africa saw thousands of buyers and sellers coming together at the Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg from 5-9 September to meet in-person and see the latest innovation and new products, services and technologies that were on display at the show. During the five days of the event over 30,000 thousand people connected across industries, thousands of products were on display and thousands of face-to-face interactions took place. Live demonstrations and competitions also kept visitors enthralled. Buyers were able to get up close to the products, see and feel the quality and speak to technical experts.
